Twitch streamer's "Broadcaster University": Over 1 million applications

Twitch broadcaster Kai Cenat, 23, announced his new project on his Instagram account on Tuesday.

Cenat, who said he was inspired by the Harry Potter series and the wizarding school Hogwarts, wrote the title "Welcome to Publisher University, Register Now."

"I am excited to extend my warmest welcome to the first class of Yayıncı University," the publisher said in an Instagram video.

"Here you will find a school where chaos is encouraged and content is king," Cenat said.

Within minutes of the registration website streameruniversity.com being launched, more than 1 million applications had been submitted, and the surge in traffic had led some people to receive error messages.

Publisher University will consist of a weekend on a university campus where creators can come together and collaborate on projects.

While no details have yet been announced about which university will host the weekend, Cenat shared on X that Publishing University will be an "all-inclusive free trip."

Cenat has held public events in the past, most notably a video game giveaway in New York’s Union Square in 2023.
